27 because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the LORD. 28 Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place and its inhabitants.'” And they brought back word to the king.
King Josiah never turned away from God all the days of his life. He lived by the word of God. During his time, the people were doing things that contradict what the Lord wants. They did not obey God, they had provoked Him to anger. Despite his surroundings, King Josiah remained faithful to the Father and did not let the people influenced him. And the Lord had blessed him and promised that the king will live in peace and will not witness the disaster that will come to those who opposed God.
Therefore, we should be like King Josiah if we want to please God. We should not let ourselves be influenced by this world. We should follow God and not the fad. People who want to have pure heart must be ready to be called odd by this world. It doesn’t matter what this world will call us, as long as we are doing pleasing things to god, that is all that matters.
