God heals (Job 5:18)

For he wounds, but he binds up;

He shatters, but his hands heal.

We may not understand why things happen. We sometimes ask God why He allows pain and suffering if He really considers us as His children. Until I had watched an episode in the 700 Asia Club about Joy Tan-Chi, the daughter of Pastor Peter Tan. She was born and raised up in a Christian family. She was obedient to God’s words. One day, while her parents were away having Bible study somewhere, some men entered their house forcefully and stole valuable things. Worst, they raped her not once but many times. She was used by these men in different rooms and places in the house. Why do bad things happen to good people?

Here are some links about Joy Tan-Chi:

God has a purpose for letting challenges to come in our lives. We may not know it by now but later God will reveal the reason and life lesson that He wants to impart to us. We need to be wounded and shattered sometimes to enhance ourselves but worry not because the wounds will one day be healed and the shattered pieces will be bind up by God in His time.It takes a Great Healer to mend our brokenness and we need Christ to be able to make the journey from brokenness to wholeness (mind,body,soul and spirit).

  1. Hi Keith, thank you for joining up with us, I hope you will be blessed.

    It takes time for us to mature in Christ Jesus but as we seek The Lord with all our heart, we do mature and understand the things of God. 1Corinthians2:9-16

    God does not willingly allow suffering, or does He cause us to suffer to teach us something but He does work everything out for good,

    Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

    God is Love and can do no evil, all good things come from Him not bad, as we ask Him for His wisdom we will know Him as He really is (1Corinthians2:9-16) all good things come from Him not bad and He does not afflict us or does he willingly allow evil as the above Scripture tells us.

    We also are never alone through the troubles that life brings to us….

    Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

    Would you plan to hurt someone you Love Keith, of course not and God has so much more Love, Mercy and Compassion than any earthly person.

    Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

    Christian Love from both of us – Anne
