When Darkness Strikes (Psalm 23:4)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[a]
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

Little children are so afraid of the dark. When the power circuit suddenly shuts down, expect that the room will be filled with their loud cries and screams. To them, darkness is where monsters and evils thrive. How relieved would they feel when dada or mama comes to the rescue.

It is not only the little kids who have fears. We too who are all grown-ups do have our own. Trust and strong faith in God gives us the strength to overcome our worries. When God is with us, who can be against us? Even the evil cannot be triumphant, our God is all powerful.

The world we are living is full of darkness–ungodliness, wickedness and unbelief exist. However, we need not worry too much because our Father is with us. We’ve got Jesus as our companion. Let Him shine His light upon us and to this dim world we are occupying.
