No Turning Back (Psalm 24:4-5)

He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

No turning back

Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt and the reason of this is because she looked back at Sodom. This is the commandment which she failed to obey, Flee for your life! Do not look behind you, nor stop anywhere in the Plain; flee to the hills, lest you be swept away.

After surrendering our lives to God and making Christ as our Lord and Savior, we were taught in Church to walk in Spirit and in truth. We were already cleansed and our hearts were changed anew. Therefore we shouldn’t turn back again to our wicked past. We should start living like how Christ did when He became a man–sinless and righteous. Though we may not become as sinless as He, we have to strive hard to avoid sin as we can. In case we commit one, God is faithful and just to forgive us. Repent and start or continue walking in Spirit.

Great things come to those who obey Him. Like He had promised, those who walk uprightly will receive a great reward from the Lord. So, do not or should I say never get tired of doing righteous things because what awaits us is God’s blessings for a lifetime and beyond. Never turn back to your old self if you don’t want to be turned into a pillar of salt.
