When God is Provoked (Psalm 76:7)

But you, you are to be feared!
    Who can stand before you
    when once your anger is roused?

God is not a spoiler. He is our Father, He knows what is best for us that is why it is normal for Him to punish us when we have done something wrong. If our parents here on earth  scold and spank us, that is for the reason that they want to correct us. If it hurts us it hurts them more. However, they love us so, they need to do that to make us better. Same thing is true with our Father in Heaven.

We have to be cautious. Our God should be feared. No one can stand His anger when provoke. Recall the story of Adam and Eve, Jonas and the big fish, Sodom and Gomorrah, Israelites at Mount Sinai and the famous story of Noah and the Ark which had flooded the whole earth to drown the wicked.

Sometimes we might wonder why disasters occur. Science has an explanation  to that and God also has a reason for that–to teach us a lesson, to draw us closer to Him or to punish us. God knows the answer to our every question. We need not know it all. We just have to obey God, fear Him and do not arouse His anger. Obedience is the name of the game!

The deeds we do, the words we say,
Into still air they seem to fleet,
We count them ever past;
But they shall last,
In the dread judgment they
And we shall meet.
