Fasten Your Seatbelt (Psalm 91:4-5)

He will cover you with his pinions,

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

You will not fear the terror of the night,

nor the arrow that flies by day

We are almost always told to wear seatbelts when riding a vehicle. I do not know why but sometimes those important things are the most that we forgot to do. Accidents happen without prior notice. That little strap can protect us from hitting the wind shield, head concussion or head contusion, or being thrown away from the vehicle when suddenly the car meets misfortune.

We keep worrying often times. We feel anxious about our future, safety, health, decisions, change, experiences, and everything else. Who wouldn’t be when we know for a fact that we do not own our life and we cannot predict things?

The secret to get rid of anxiety and fear is to have faith with our Maker. No matter what is happening around us if we are being buckled by God’s abundant grace and mercy, there is no need to worry. All bitter and sad experiences will all come to pass. Time heals all wounds. We just have to make sure that we are consulting the right refuge. God said that in heaven there will be neither pain nor suffering. All will be joyful and what we’ll be just doing is worshiping and praising Him.

So now, let us ask God to cover us with the precious blood of Jesus and to fasten us with His mighty hands.
