Big Sin, Little Sin (Psalm 106: 43-44)

Many times he delivered them,

but they were rebellious in their purposes

and were brought low through their iniquity.

Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress,

when he heard their cry

Rapists, murderers, kidnappers, thieves, child molesters—we hate them or rather we hate what they do. Who on earth would love to be engaged to anyone of these kinds? These people are the worst of the worst, the wickedest among the wicked! Nevertheless, God doesn’t deal with them the way we treat these persons. He does not like what they are doing and that is certain however He wants them to be saved.

Behind those wicked acts are bad experiences in the past. We need not judge them. Though they have done unacceptable and inhumane things, we must be reminded that we are all sinners. There is no big nor little sin.The smallest sin is big enough. All of us are not considered righteous, only God. Therefore, we have no right to condemn them. Instead, we must pray for their souls to be saved.

Are we gonna spend our life eternally in Heaven with these “evil doers” as labeled by the government? Probably yes if they will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Definitely YES if we start acting today in sharing God’s words to them. Once they are purified by the Spirit,God will no longer see them as rapists or murderers because they will turn as new creations like us. Their old selves will be gone and a new will come. That is how gracious and merciful our God is.

It is not only those who are doing crimes are considered as transgressor. We are to be called as one. We had committed sins, rebelled, and disobeyed. God is not pleased with these but once we call upon His name, He will surely hear our cries and come to the rescue. He is a forgiving God. No matter how sinful are we, He can cleanse us and purify our hearts. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus therefore we need not stuck ourselves and blame it for stupidly succumbing to temptations. Move on for our Lord had already paid the price. Now start to walk in Spirit and do not do the same mistakes again.
