Wake up call (Amos 3:6)

Is a trumpet blown in a city,
and the people are not afraid?
Does disaster come to a city,
unless the Lord has done it?

Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) is considered to be one if not the strongest typhoon of all time which flattened the provinces of Leyte, Samar and other areas of Visayas. The catastrophic devastation brought the best and worst out of the Filipinos. Many had lost their loved ones, no strong houses has been left standing, trees were all destroyed, almost all properties and infrastrucures are no longer functional. The storm had really brought great destruction to the country. But did you know that several rumors after the strongest typhoon’s aftermath proclaimed that typhoon Haiyan is man-made? Is it true?

The answer to this which other people consider as absurd question is the verse above. If truly a man or group of men can make a storm as strong as Yolanda, then probably man can also think of ways to stop disasters from coming right? Just a week after the wrath of Yolanda, a hurricane struck Illinois and a very unusual occurrence happened in Saudi Arabia because the desert place was hit by rare floods. Are these man-made too?

In my point of view, these happenings are wakeup call from up above. Science explain it as global warming, I call it as God’s warning and a call for repentance.

Earth, return now to Jesus. Why are we not afraid of God? We need not suffer from any of these catastrophes to be able to learn a lesson. Let us repent people before it is too late.
