18“They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
Was there ever a time in your life when you haven’t talked to God for a while because of sin? You feel like you are so dirty and unworthy of communicating to the Holy One. I have been in this place. True to what the Bible says, sin disrupts our relationship with God. We often feel guilty of what we have done. If these continue, we might get use to transgressing without repenting and our hearts could no longer feel the urge to ask for forgiveness.
But the best thing about God is that He is forgiving. No matter how frequent and how big our sin is if we turn back to him, He will welcome us with open arms just like the prodigal son. He is the only one who has the power to change a person. He can turn our heart of stone to a heart of flesh. He can turn a prisoner into a preacher.
While we still have the time to repent, we should do it now before it is too late. Ask God to change your life and be an instrument that others may also know His forgiving nature. There is no need to immerse ourselves in guilt and self-blame because Christ had already paid the price. Once we are cleansed, our aim should be to please God and it includes getting rid of sin. Live a new life with Christ and bury your wicked past six feet under.
