37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
Nebuchadnezzar was the reigning king during the time of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He erected a statue and instructed the people to worship it and fall down whenever they hear the horn or any kind of music. Because of this commandment, the three men who refused to bow down were put into a blazing furnace. Yet, the God of heaven and Earth was with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Not even a strand of hair was burned. King Nebuchadnezzar had witnessed it and he was amazed. Truly there is no one who can compare to the God almighty.
It says in the verse above that those who walk in pride, He is able to humble. Notice what God did to King Nebuchadnezzar. His heart was softened and in the end, He had praised and honored the King of Heaven. Have you been wishing for a miracle to happen that the corrupt officials, hired killers, gangs, rapists and other evil doers will have a change of heart? If their wicked plans could just be turned to good deeds! But we shouldn’t lose hope! God can do impossible things possible. Let us not get tired of praying for world peace. Let us not stop praying for these wicked men to be enlightened. One day, just like what God did to King Nebuchadnezzar, their stone-cold hearts will be changed to a soft heart. And we will all be amazed sooner or later that the person testifying in front of us was once a wicked man renewed by Jesus.
