DEBTS PAID OFF
13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
How does it feel to have someone who borrowed money that is not paying his/her debt for ages? Isn’t it kind of disappointing and irritating? It is normal that the trust will fade. Aren’t you regretting that you lend that person a few cents? On the other hand, have you ever been indebted to anyone? How does it feel to stay indebted?
A lot of people are committing suicide because they are no longer capable of paying their debts. A lot had sacrifice anything just to be cleared from it. Thousands of years ago, our debts were already paid at the Cross of Calvary. The wages of sin is death but as believers of Christ, we have been set free from our trespasses. We have been forgiven. We are the redeemed. And we owe all things to God. Not only did He canceled the record of our debts, He promised eternal life to those who believes in Jesus.
Sounds like it is too good to be true? Well it is actually a promise of God to His sons and daughters. And this opportunity is unlimited so we must grab the chance to spread the good news to others that we may spend eternity altogether in Heaven.
