The Other Side

9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Living in a modern world has drawbacks. First, a lot of things snatch our attention. Instead of doing our daily devotion, we get busy in browsing social media sites. Second, the gap between the poor and the rich gets bigger and bigger as the later becomes more powerful and wealthier while the indigent stays the same way as they are. For this reason, crimes are very rampant and injustice becomes usual. Lastly, views, opinions, and beliefs change over time due to the influence of modern advancement. The ones considered immoral in the 19th century are now seen as rights of every individual. Lord, have mercy on us!

When the mind is clouded by worldly deception, it is hard to introduce what is true. For instance, Manny Pacquaio earned a flak after his statement in an interview about same-sex marriage. But it was really stated in the Bible that a man is for a woman. Marriage is a sacred union of male and female. However, to those who had already been deceived by such beliefs, it is your choice to marry who you want to marry. Love knows no bound, they say. Unfortunately, we live in this era where people enjoys pleasure with unrighteousness. There are countries and states which legalize same-sex marriage, abortion, divorce, pornography to name a few. What would be the next generation face in the future?

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. For us who surrendered our lives to Him, the Spirit lives in us which helps us decipher which is right or wrong. Therefore, we shouldn’t be confused to which side should we go. Be firm to make a stand. Be courageous enough to share the truth. The world may hate you for this but it shouldn’t matter. Our job is to please the lord and not mankind. Our job is to save the world not to live with the pattern of this world.
