27 After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.
2 Samuel 11:27
Due to our desire to attain happiness, success or pleasure, sometimes we doesn’t care even if it means violating or compromising the welfare of others. Just like King David who sent Uriah to a fight with a little chance of survival just to have the latter’s wife, we resort to dirty tactics even with the sake of other people just to get what we want. However, take note that the end does not justify the means and God is never pleased with wicked motives and actions.
Keep in mind that it is better to get low grades than to cheat. But of course, it is still best to study hard and prepare yourself for an exam. Same is true when it comes to work matters and other aspects of life. Notice that even the faithful servant of God like King David can still fall into temptation which means that we are at risk of doing things that are unpleasing in the eyes of God. Therefore, we must devote more time communicating with him and meditating His words so that the chance of doing things that are unrighteous will be lessened.
