And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
1 Kings 8:23
Sometimes, we tend to question God why other brothers and sisters in Christ are more successful, more progressive, richer and healthier than us. We think God is playing favorites. However, He among us is fair. One of the reasons I see why other Christians are having a good life better than us is because we are not contented with what we have. It can also be due to our partial obedience or disobedience.
Put your feet in the shoes of a teacher. Are you going to reward a student who is always late and lazy? Those who are obedient and hardworking students will always be the one who receives higher grades and incentives from their professors. In our Christian walk, it is those who obey the work of God who always reaps blessings. If you walk with God, no matter how difficult the road is, you have that certainty in your heart that the best is yet to come.
There is no other God that can love and forgive us the same way our Father God can. Do not be a skeptic. Put your whole trust in Him.
Give your servant, therefore, an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?
1 Kings 3: 9
What do we often ask God during our prayer time? Fame? Success? Money? Although it is not bad to request for these things, it is unusual yet amazing for someone to pray for wisdom and discernment just like King Solomon. Instead of asking for long life and riches, he prayed for wisdom.
Do we often consult God before we decide to make a move? Are we asking for His guidance to lead our day to day activities? The problem with people is that we complain before we listen. We grumble even for petty challenges and we blame God for a difficult situation. If we truly believe in His sovereignty and ask wisdom before we take several steps forward, life is sweeter.
In application, God is full of wisdom and He is generous to give wisdom to those who are asking for it. If we are uncertain of what to do or where to go, ask God to lead the way. The discernment that comes from God will always result in a better judgment. When in doubt, call unto Him and He will answer. His landline is open 24/7 and there are no technical difficulties. Why not call Him now?
